Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire persist: casualties reported, destruction extends, total death toll surpasses 73,000
GAZA, June 30 (YPA) – Israeli occupation aircraft and military vehicles continued on Tuesday to violate the ceasefire agreement—signed with Hamas, which took effect on October 10 under US President Donald Trump’s plan—by executing a series of house demolitions alongside intensive artillery and aerial bombardments across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Key Field Developments and Israeli Occupation Infractions:
In southern Gaza, Israeli artillery shelling targeted northwestern Rafah, complemented by gunfire and house demolitions in eastern and northeastern Khan Younis.
In Gaza City, Israeli forces detonated a booby-trapped robot packed with tons of explosives to demolish homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, coinciding with airstrikes and artillery shelling hitting the Al-Shuja’iyya, Al-Sudaniya, and Al-Karama areas.
In northern Gaza, heavy gunfire was directed toward the Al-Atatra area and the eastern sectors of Beit Lahia.
Casualties and Victims:
A woman and her toddler (Diana Mohammad Salem Abu Draz and her daughter, Siwar) were killed, and others injured, in an attack targeting displaced persons’ tents in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis. Two additional citizens were killed on the Khan Younis beach, raising the death toll from Monday’s violations to eight fatalities and dozens of injuries.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the total toll from the Israeli occupation aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,058 fatalities and 173,488 wounded, with thousands of victims remaining under the rubble and on the roads.
