Iran rejects reports of destroyed air defenses, says capabilities continue to advance

TEHRAN, June 30 (YPA) – The Iranian Army on Monday dismissed reports claiming that its air defense systems had been destroyed, describing them as enemy disinformation and reaffirming that the country’s air defense capabilities continue to develop.

In a statement, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Yousefi Khosh Ghalb, rejected false claims circulated by hostile media regarding the destruction of Iran’s air defense systems, stressing that the country’s defensive capabilities are undergoing continuous modernization.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, Khosh Ghalb said the armed forces are achieving steady advances in air defense systems by relying on domestic capabilities.

He added that the continued implementation of defense programs across the country, the protection of Iran’s land and maritime borders, and the absence of hostile aircraft in Iranian airspace demonstrate the readiness and effectiveness of the country’s air defense network.

Khosh Ghalb said there are no operational problems in this area, describing the reports as part of an enemy media disinformation campaign.

He acknowledged that some equipment sustained damage during what he referred to as the 12-day and 40-day wars, but said the losses had been offset through the scientific and industrial capabilities of Iran’s armed forces.

Regarding drone capabilities, Khosh Ghalb claimed that Iran had succeeded in penetrating the enemy’s “Iron Dome” defenses and striking its intended targets, describing this as evidence of the country’s advanced unmanned aerial capabilities.

He added that the development and deployment of advanced drones remain an integral part of Iran’s ongoing military modernization efforts.
