SANAA, June 30 (YPA) – Sanaa and several Yemeni provinces are witnessing widespread armed mobilization and an unprecedented level of official, popular, and tribal preparedness, amid growing indications of extensive military preparations for what supporters describe as a decisive confrontation with Saudi Arabia, following a call by Yemen’s Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi issued on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
As part of these developments, Sana’a and a number of other governorates have seen a series of large armed gatherings and tribal rallies, during which tribal groups and public mobilization forces declared a general mobilization and announced that combat readiness had been raised to its highest level.
Statements issued during the gatherings said that the strategic patience toward the blockade and coalition war led by Saudi Arabia with U.S. backing was nearing its limit.
The statements affirmed full readiness to engage in what they called a battle to secure the rights of the Yemeni people, stressing that Yemen’s position on confronting the Saudi-led coalition and the blockade remains unchanged.
They warned that any continued delay or failure by Saudi Arabia to implement its commitments under previous understandings with Sanaa would have serious consequences.
According to the statements, greater coordination between state institutions and society is necessary to end the blockade, expel occupying forces, recover national resources, and enable Yemenis to fully benefit from the country’s wealth.
The statements also linked the mobilization to regional developments, expressing support for Iran’s achievements in confronting the United States and Israeli occupation, while reaffirming commitment to the concept of the “Unity of Fronts.”
They further called on Yemenis in both northern and southern provinces to strengthen unity and cohesion and work toward restoring full national sovereignty, warning that Saudi Arabia faces a choice between responding to Sanaa’s demands or facing a new round of military confrontation, according to the statements.
