WASHINGTON, June 29 (YPA) – The United States and Iran have agreed to halt hostilities and meet in Qatar on Tuesday for talks aimed at resolving their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reported on Sunday, citing senior US officials.
The development comes after the United States launched fresh strikes on sites inside Iran early Sunday, less than 24 hours after previous attacks, in an escalation that threatens regional and international efforts to stabilize understandings and prevent further escalation.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded to the US aggression by targeting eight US military sites, including Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain
IRGC added that arrangements governing maritime movement in the Strait fall under Iran’s authority under the memorandum of understanding, warning that any violation of the ceasefire would constitute a breach of Article One of the agreement and lead to its complete collapse.
