UN Security Council holds session today on Palestinian issue

NEW YORK, June 29 (YPA) –  The United Nations Security Council is holding its monthly open session today, Monday, on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, followed by closed consultations.

The Deputy UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Ramez Alakbarov, is expected to brief the members of the Council.

According to the current presidency of the Security Council, the meeting will also discuss the Secretary-General’s report on the implementation of UN Resolution 2334, which calls on Israel to immediately and completely halt all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
