GAZA, June 28 (YPA) – Israeli occupation authorities released 14 Palestinian prisoners from Gaza on Sunday through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, while Red Cross teams transferred them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for medical examinations.
Local sources reported that most of the released prisoners were suffering from severe fatigue and weakness due to the conditions of their detention. Some were transferred to specialized departments to treat injuries and illnesses that worsened during their imprisonment.
This brings the number of released prisoners who have arrived at the hospital since the end of the “Freedom Flood” prisoner exchange deal until June 28, 2026, to 421.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, the number of prisoners in Israeli prisons exceeds 9,600, including about 1,250 from Gaza classified as “unlawful combatants,” 90 female prisoners, and 350 children.
