Iranian delegation refuses joint photo with US counterparts at Geneva talks

TEHRAN, June 21 (YPA) – The Iranian delegation participating in the Geneva negotiations in Switzerland refused to take a joint group photo or shake hands with the US delegation at the start of the multilateral meeting.

Iran’s “Tasnim” news agency quoted an informed source close to the negotiating team stating that the head and members of the Iranian delegation objected to the protocol arrangements prepared by the organizers and the US side to arrange a handshake and a joint group photo, announcing their boycott of the photo session.

Following this refusal, the live broadcast and the photo session proceeded without the participation of the Iranian delegation.

The Iranian team later entered the meeting venue after the US delegation requested a five-minute recess to allow journalists to leave the negotiating room.
