Araghchi reveals new information about course of negotiations with Washington
TEHRAN, June 15 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi provided insights into ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington, indicating a potential meeting in Switzerland on Friday for the signing of a finalized memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Araqchi noted that some provisions of the MoU would be implemented immediately, while others would await the official signing.
The negotiations are structured in two phases: the first involves the MoU, and the second will encompass a 60-day round of negotiations that can be extended.
He emphasized that the talks will be marked by a lack of trust due to the US prior breaches of commitment.
The final agreement aims to address issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions, with opportunities for further understandings on these matters.
