ADEN, June 15 (YPA) – The dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced on Monday the resumption of operations at its main headquarters in Aden, which also houses the office of STC’s head Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, despite the Saudi pressure.
STC spokesperson Anwar Al-Tamimi said in a Facebook post that work had resumed at the STC’s headquarters and Al-Zubaidi’s office after the premises were reportedly closed on Sunday by forces affiliated with the Al Amaliqa Brigades under directives by Saudi Arabia’s Special Committee.
He stated that normal operations resumed on Monday after military forces aligned with Saudi Arabia had blocked leaders and administrative staff from accessing the headquarters over the previous two days.
Al-Tamimi added that the reopening followed an official statement by the STC calling on its supporters to mobilize and reject provocative measures targeting the council and its headquarters in Aden.
He also praised military commanders aligned with the STC, saying they had acted to prevent tensions and instability in Aden, while reiterating the council’s claim to represent the southern cause.
