BEIRUT, June 11 (YPA) – Israeli occupation’s airstrikes intensified across southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa on Thursday, with attacks reported in several towns and villages, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an airstrike near Hiram Hospital in the city of Tyre killed one person and injured 17 others, including 10 nurses and hospital staff.
Hospital officials said the blast caused extensive damage to the facility, shattering windows and doors, damaging patient rooms and medical departments, and affecting vehicles belonging to doctors and staff parked on the premises.
The chairman of the hospital’s board, Dr. Salman Adeibi, said several employees were injured by flying glass and debris and received medical treatment, while sections of the hospital, including emergency and intensive care units, sustained material damage.
The strikes come amid continuing hostilities along the Lebanese border despite a ceasefire arrangement that took effect earlier this year.
Lebanese authorities have reported repeated violations and continued military activity in southern Lebanon since the agreement entered into force.
