SAADA, June 09 (YPA) – A woman was killed and another woman and a child were injured on Tuesday when a cluster bomb from remnants of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition exploded in Saada province, north of Yemen, according to local sources.
The sources said that the explosion occurred in a remote area in Dhaher district, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two civilians with varying degrees of severity.
The incident highlighted the ongoing risks faced by residents in border areas, where unexploded ordnance and landmines continue to cause civilian casualties long after the end of active fighting, amid calls for greater international assistance in demining operations.
