2 protesters killed, another injured by Saudi-backed forces in Aden, Sayoun

ADEN/SAOUN, June 09 (YPA) – Two protesters were killed and another was wounded by gunfire from Saudi-backed forces during the suppression of angry popular demonstrations in the cities of Aden and Sayoun, in southern and eastern Yemen.

This came amid a widespread arrest campaign launched by those forces to pursue and suppress the protesters denouncing the deterioration of services and demanding improved electricity.

Local and human rights sources confirmed that the young man, “Nassem Jahour,” died from a bullet to the head fired by members of the Saudi-funded “Dera Al-Watan” forces during the Dar Sad protests in Aden. In Sayoun, the young man “Manaf Al-Sayari” was killed and his brother “Hamid” was critically injured by gunfire from the Saudi-backed “Emergency” forces while dispersing demonstrators.

Furthermore, the “Emergency” forces in Sayoun launched a sweeping campaign of raids and abductions targeting dozens of people, pursuing angry protesters with armored vehicles and military trucks inside residential neighborhoods, amid widespread public condemnation.
