TEHRAN, June 09 (YPA) – Iran’s football federation has accused the United States of preventing Iranian fans from accessing ticket allocations for their national team’s World Cup matches and called on FIFA to intervene.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the federation said the ticket quota allocated to Iran for its group-stage matches had been withdrawn, preventing it from distributing tickets to supporters through official channels.
It argued that FIFA regulations reserve a portion of match tickets for participating national associations and said it had already begun offering tickets for Iran’s matches against New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt before the allocation was reportedly canceled.
According to the statement, the decision affected fans who had already made travel and attendance plans based on previously announced procedures.
The federation said the move undermines the principle of equal treatment among participating nations and deprives Iranian supporters of their rights to attend the tournament.
It called on FIFA and tournament organizers to uphold the principles of neutrality, fairness, and equal access, and to ensure that Iranian fans receive the ticket allocations they are entitled to under tournament regulations.
