GAZA, June 08 (YPA) – The total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the outbreak of Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to at least 72,980, with an additional 173,171 individuals injured, the Gaza Health Ministry announced in its daily statistical report on Monday.
According to the ministry’s latest figures, local hospitals registered 9 deaths and 43 wounded over the past 24 hours resulting from ongoing Israeli military operations.
The updated statistics also provided a breakdown of casualties recorded since the implementation of a ceasefire agreement on October 11. The ministry stated that during this subsequent period, 970 people were killed by Israeli occupation fire, 3,063 were injured, and the bodies of 782 individuals previously reported missing were recovered.
Health authorities reiterated that the comprehensive casualty figure remains an undercount.
“A significant number of victims remain trapped under rubble or scattered on roadways,” the ministry statement said, adding that emergency services and civil defense teams continue to face severe operational constraints that prevent them from reaching these areas.
