US refuses visas for several members of Iran national football team delegation

WASHINGTON, June 06 (YPA) – The US authorities have refused to issue visas to a number of members of the Iranian national football team’s delegation ahead of its trip to Mexico for a training camp.

According to Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian national team is scheduled to leave the Turkish city of Antalya today for the Mexican city of Tijuana, where it will hold its preparatory camp.

The agency added that those who did not receive US visas include Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the national team manager; Hedayat Membini, Secretary-General of the Iranian Football Federation; Mehdi Kharati, Executive Director of the national team; and Mohsen Mottamedkia, Media Director.

A number of members of the administrative and media staff, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federation’s International Relations Committee, were also denied visas.

According to the agency, they will travel with the national team to Mexico while efforts continue to secure US visas for them.
