Syria’s Jabal Aqil residents continue protests demanding return of homes, lands

DAMASCUS, June 05 (YPA) – Residents of the Jabal Aqil area in Al-Bab of Syria have continued their peaceful protests for the eighth consecutive week, demanding the return of homes and the Turkish forces-held lands and calling for the restoration of their property rights.

During the demonstrations, participants raised banners calling for an end to the Turkish military presence in the area and urging authorities to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their properties, as well as provide compensation for losses incurred over recent years.

Protesters stressed that their demands have yet to be met through concrete measures, despite weeks of demonstrations, and affirmed their intention to continue peaceful activities until their homes and lands are returned.

Residents also said that no practical steps have been taken to address their grievances, compensate those affected, or resolve the issue, warning that the continued lack of action is fueling growing frustration within the community.
