North Korea unveils newly operational nuclear facility

PYONGYANG, June 04 (YPA) – Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, declared that the country had doubled its production of military-use nuclear materials over the past five years.

He described the achievement as a significant milestone in the development of its nuclear program.

The remarks were made during a visit to a newly operational nuclear facility, where Kim said Pyongyang would continue expanding its nuclear capabilities as part of a long-term strategic plan aimed at strengthening national defense.

He characterized the increase in production as a major advancement that demonstrates North Korea’s ability to expand its nuclear arsenal despite international sanctions and diplomatic pressure.

North Korea maintains that its nuclear weapons program serves as a deterrent against potential threats from the United States and South Korea, and has repeatedly stated that its nuclear policy is not open to reversal.

Pyongyang withdrew from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in 1993 and has since conducted six nuclear tests, prompting multiple rounds of sanctions by the United Nations.
