LJUBLJANA, June 03 (YPA) – Slovenian authorities on Wednesday blocked a civilian aircraft operating a flight on behalf of an Israeli occupation airline from landing at the capital’s Ljubljana airport, forcing the flight to divert to Croatia without prior warning.
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation reported that the refusal disrupted flight operations and caused distress among passengers, noting that the move transcends technical boundaries into political dimensions.
Uri Sirkis, CEO of “Israir”, confirmed that the landing ban was not due to technical issues but was rather a political decision driven by the Slovenian authorities’ opposition to the occupation’s policies, pointing out that the step underscores the impact of political stances on civilian and commercial activities.
