UN: 53 civilians killed in 12 Israeli attacks on police in Gaza since January

GAZA, June 3 (YPA) – The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories warned of escalating attacks by the occupation on police stations in Gaza.

The office reported via the “X” platform that since January 2026, it has documented at least 12 attacks that resulted in the killing of at least 53 civilians, including 35 police officers, children, displaced persons, and prisoners.

The office considered that targeting the police while performing their security duties “could amount to war crimes,” noting that nearly eight months have passed since the ceasefire was announced without a halt to the killing, chaos, and suffering.

It is noteworthy that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11th has reached 936, with 2,903 injured.
