BEIRUT, May 31 (YPA) – Several Lebanese citizens were killed and others injured early Sunday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting the town of Deir ez-Zahrani in southern Lebanon.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli warplanes launched multiple intense strikes on the Arab neighborhood of the town, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
Rescue teams were reported to be recovering bodies from beneath the rubble, while a number of people remained trapped under collapsed buildings after residential homes were targeted while residents were asleep inside.
In a later development, the Israeli military issued evacuation threats to all residents living in areas south of the Zahrani River, instructing them to leave immediately and move to locations north of the river.
