Sanaa Warns: US-Israeli escalation in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran threatens global stability and economy
SANAA, May 29 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa warned on Friday that the ongoing aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran by the United States and “Israel” poses a serious threat to international peace and security, with potential negative repercussions for the global economy.
In a statement, the ministry said the Israeli assault on Gaza has continued since the ceasefire agreement reached on October 10, stating that repeated daily violations amount to acts of genocide against the Palestinian people.
It further stated that more than 900 civilians have been killed and over 2,700 others injured, describing the situation as a blatant breach of international humanitarian law and the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The ministry reaffirmed Yemen’s leadership, government, and people’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, describing it as the central issue of the Arab and Islamic world, and reiterated its backing for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people to achieve full independence and establish an independent state with Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
It also condemned ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon and repeated violations of the ceasefire, including recent strikes near Beirut, Tyre, and Nabatieh, calling them a serious escalation and a flagrant breach of Lebanese sovereignty and international law.
According to the statement, the continued Israeli aggression on Lebanon since March 2 has resulted in more than 3,300 deaths and over 10,000 injuries.
The ministry added that the ongoing escalation signals to Lebanese authorities that reliance on negotiations with Israel is a “failed bet,” arguing that resistance remains the only way to reclaim what it described as occupied rights.
It further reaffirmed Yemen’s solidarity with Lebanon and its resistance, while strongly condemning continued US military actions against Iran, which it said are undermining regional stability and the global economy, according to Saba News Agency.
The statement also denounced recent threats made by “criminal Trump” against Oman, describing them as evidence of what it called US policies of arrogance and coercion toward other states.
Finally, the ministry reiterated Yemen’s support for Iran and affirmed its right to self-defense in accordance with international law and relevant international charters.
