10 international activists heading to Gaza arrested in eastern Libya

TRIPOLI, May 25 (YPA) – Khalifa Haftar’s forces arrested 10 solidarity activists from an international aid convoy that was heading to support Gaza, after they crossed Gate 55 in the east of the country.

Informed sources reported that the convoy was stopped and its members taken away without explanation of the reasons for the detention or their destination.

It is noteworthy that the delegation includes activists from Argentina, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Tunisia, the United States, and Uruguay, as part of an international initiative to deliver messages of humanitarian solidarity to Gaza.

The incident raised questions about the fate of those detained and the circumstances of their arrest.
