STC leadership escalates rhetoric against Saudi Arabia with unprecedented threats targeting “Al-Alimi”
DHALEA, May 25 (YPA) – The UAE-aligned leaders in southern Yemen launched a sharp attack on Saudi Arabia and the Riyadh-backed government.
Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), renewed calls to confront what he termed “regionally-backed hegemony projects” and to counter the Saudi presence.
Concurrently, prominent STC figure Abdullah Mahdi launched a verbal assault against Saudi leadership.
Speaking at a public rally in Dhalea province, Mahdi threatened to “loop the noose around Al-Alimi’s neck (Rashad Al-Alimi, President the Presidential Leadership Council)” in response to the latter’s remarks regarding “addressing the Southern Issue under the umbrella of a unified state”—a stance that has triggered widespread backlash across the STC leadership.
