Iran shoots down hostile drone over Gulf with new air defense system

TEHRAN, May 25 (YPA) – Iranian forces successfully shot down a hostile drone over the waters of the Gulf using new “Arash the Archer” (Arash al-Rami) systems, Fars News Agency reported on Monday.

Concurrently, Mehr News Agency reported active air defense sounds heard around the strategic Qeshm Island in the south of the country, which overlooks the Strait of Hormuz.

In the context of preparations to counter potential threats, the Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Major General Ali Abdollahi, announced that Iran’s air defense performed significantly better than before in the “Third Imposed War,” noting that new air defense systems have been introduced into service to counter enemy air attacks more effectively.
