Mass protests in Bilbao against Spanish police assault on “Sumud Flotilla” activists

BILBAO, May 24 (YPA) – Mass protests erupted in Bilbao, Spain, on Sunday, protesting the violence and severe beatings inflicted by the Basque police on six “Sumud Flotilla” activists.

The assault occurred immediately upon their arrival at the airport yesterday, following their release from Israeli occupation prisons, and led to the arrest of six of them for chanting slogans in solidarity with Palestine.

The footage of the activists being dragged and assaulted with batons has sparked widespread outrage across Spain, amid mounting demands to hold the police leadership and the involved officers accountable.
