Leader in STC lashes out at “Al-Alimi,” warns of “imminent catastrophe”

ADEN, May 22 (YPA) – Fadhl al-Jaadi, a prominent leader in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)—which Saudi Arabia declared dissolved early last January—launched a fierce attack on Rashad Al-Alimi, the Riyadh-based head of the Presidential Leadership Council.

Al-Jaadi warned of an “imminent catastrophe” fueled by a sharp disconnect between Al-Alimi’s political rhetoric and the actual performance of Shaya’ al-Zandani’s government on the ground.

In a post on the “X” platform on Friday, Al-Jaadi accused the political leadership of evading critical crises and ignoring available solutions. He argued that the current crisis management approach remains detached from a turbulent reality that has dealt a “fatal blow” to Aden and other Saudi-controlled areas, highlighting a widening rift between southern factions and the Leadership Council.

These statements come amid a severe economic and public services collapse, alongside security chaos plaguing those regions. Tensions also persist amid military friction that threatens to boil over following the dissolution of the STC and Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to restructure armed factions and appoint Riyadh-loyal commanders.
