MOSCOW, May 22 (YPA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the successful execution of operational launches during the second stage of its nuclear forces exercises.
The drills involved intercontinental ballistic, hypersonic, and air-launched cruise missiles, all of which precisely struck their designated targets.
The maneuvers included the following launches:
- “Sineva” ICBM: Launched by a nuclear submarine crew from an underwater position.
- “Zircon” Hypersonic Missile: Fired by a Russian frigate from the Barents Sea.
- “Yars” ICBM: Launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome toward a test site in Kamchatka.
- Hypersonic Cruise Missiles: Deployed from the air by “Tu-95MS” aircraft, alongside a “Kinzhal” missile launch executed by a “MiG-31I” fighter.
This escalatory training exercise reflects Moscow’s commitment to demonstrating the readiness of its nuclear forces amid regional and international tensions, sending a clear deterrent message to its adversaries regarding the decisive retaliatory capability of its strategic forces in any potential confrontation.
