Official Spanish protest against Israel’s mistreatment of “Steadfastness Flotilla” members

MADRID, May 20 (YPA) – Spain summoned the Israeli Chargé d’affaires in Madrid to protest the harassment of pro-Palestinian “Steadfastness Flotilla” activists, including Spanish citizens.

The move came after Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir posted a video showing Israeli forces forcing flotilla detainees to kneel and handcuffing them, along with provocative remarks from him.

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Álvarez described the video as “horrifying, inhumane, and degrading,” reiterating Madrid’s demand for a public apology from the Israeli government.

He indicated that there were Spaniards among those detained, without yet confirming their exact number.
