Lebanon death toll from Israeli aggression rises to 2,969

BEIRUT, May 16 (YPA) – The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 2,969 killed, with 9,112 injured, since March 2, according to figures released on Saturday by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

In its daily statistical report, published through Lebanon’s National News Agency, the ministry said that 18 people were killed and 124 others wounded during the past 24 hours as a result of continued Israeli occupation strikes.

Lebanese authorities said the occupation’s attacks have intensified since early March, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure across southern and eastern Lebanon.

The aggression has reportedly displaced around 1.5 million people, many of whom remain outside official shelter centers.

Although a temporary ceasefire agreement came into effect in mid-April, Lebanese officials accuse occupation forces of carrying out repeated violations through ongoing airstrikes and military operations.
