OCCUPIED QUDS, May 12 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation government is facing an imminent risk of collapse as the political crisis escalates between Prime Minister “Benjamin Netanyahu” and the “Haredi” parties over the stalled passage of the law exempting ultra-Orthodox Jews from military service.
Netanyahu informed “Haredi” leaders that the governing coalition currently lacks the necessary majority to pass the exemption law, proposing instead to postpone the legislation until after the next elections.
“United Torah Judaism” leader Moshe Gafni has reportedly refused to meet with Netanyahu or return his calls. Sources within the party stressed that maintaining the coalition has “become impossible” without the law, pending a final decision from their Rabbis regarding the dissolution of the “Knesset.”
“Haredi” parties are conditioning any delay of the law on moving elections up to next September, which would necessitate dissolving the “Knesset” by this coming June.
This crisis unfolds as Netanyahu faces mounting pressure from Zionist settlers who oppose granting the “Haredim” military exemptions, particularly amid the ongoing war and the occupation army’s increasing need to expand conscription.
