Tehran rejects removal of enriched nuclear materials abroad

TEHRAN, May 12 (YPA) – Tehran has confirmed its rejection of any proposal involving the removal of enriched nuclear materials from the country, according to an informed source close to the Iranian negotiating team, as quoted by Tasnim News Agency.

The source stated that the Iranian draft presented in the negotiations does not include any provision permitting the transfer of enriched materials abroad.

At the same time, it noted that Iran’s proposal sets a specific timeframe for the release of its frozen financial assets.

He added that while the U.S. proposal includes a commitment to unfreeze Iranian funds, Tehran insists that this must be implemented within a defined and binding schedule.

The remarks come after U.S. President Donald Trump said during a press conference on Monday that Iran had informed him of its intention to hand over nuclear materials to the United States.
