Iranian air defense downs hostile drone, warns of restricted navigation in Hormuz

TEHRAN, May 11 (YPA) – The Iranian Army announced early Monday that its integrated air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a “hostile” reconnaissance drone over the country’s southwestern region.

In a related statement, Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Akrami Nia confirmed that the armed forces are updating their target database and bolstering both offensive and defensive capabilities. Nia issued a stern warning to nations participating in US sanctions, noting they would face “difficulties” navigating the Strait of Hormuz.

These developments occur amidst heightened Iranian alertness to counter any ceasefire violations following a 40-day military confrontation that took place last February.
