Israeli occupation assassinates director of investigations in Khan Younis, continues raids on Gaza Strip

GAZA, May 10 (YPA) – The director of the Khan Younis police investigations, Lieutenant Colonel Wissam Fayez Abdel Hadi, and Sergeant Fadi Abdel Moati Heikal were killed this morning, Sunday, as a result of an Israeli occupation aircraft raid that targeted their vehicle in the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Younis city.

Medical and police sources reported that the vehicle attack resulted in their immediate deaths and the injury of eight other citizens who were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex.

This assassination coincides with a series of ongoing raids; the occupation targeted a security point in the Maghazi camp at dawn today, leaving a martyr and wounded, while a fisherman was injured by the occupation navy’s bullets west of Gaza City, amid a continuous escalation affecting various areas of the Strip.

In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the cumulative death toll since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, has reached 72,737, in addition to 172,539 wounded, amid the continuation of the humanitarian catastrophe and the near-total collapse of the health sector in Gaza.
