BEIRUT, May 10 (YPA) – Hezbollah announced on Sunday that it had carried out three military operations targeting Israeli occupation forces, military equipment, and positions in southern Lebanon.
In separate statements, the Party describing the attacks as a response to continued occupation’s violations of the ceasefire agreement.
The statements said the operations were conducted in defense of Lebanon and its people and in retaliation for Israeli strikes on southern Lebanese villages that reportedly resulted in civilian casualties.
Hezbollah stated that one operation involved a drone strike targeting a Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozer in the Khalat Raj area near the town of Deir Siryan in the Marjayoun district, scoring a direct hit.
In a second operation, the group said it targeted an Israeli military command position in the town of Khiam using two drones, alleging that casualties were inflicted among Israeli forces stationed there.
Hezbollah also reported carrying out an artillery strike against a gathering of the occupation’s troops and military vehicles near the municipality of Khiam, in what appeared to be a further escalation along Lebanon’s southern border.
The Party’s increasing use of drones, particularly those employing fiber-optic technology, has drawn attention in recent weeks amid Israeli acknowledgments of challenges in detecting and intercepting such systems.
A 10-day ceasefire came into effect on April 17 and was later extended until May 17. However, Lebanese officials and Hezbollah accused the occupation of continuing daily violations through airstrikes and shelling targeting villages in southern Lebanon.
