OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 10 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation military said on Sunday that two soldiers serving in combat units had been arrested on suspicion of stealing weapons from military bases in four separate incident.
According to Israeli criminal investigations, a covert investigation conducted in recent weeks by the coastal district’s central unit, in cooperation with the military police, led to the arrest of several suspects, including two active-duty combat soldiers and a number of settlers.
Investigators said their main concern was that the stolen weapons were intended for “criminal elements”.
Some of the suspects were reported to be only partially cooperating with investigators and refusing to answer some of the allegations against them.
According to the investigation, the suspects are believed to have stolen weapons from Israeli army bases in at least four separate cases, with additional arrests expected as the probe continues.
The arrests come two weeks after two female soldiers were detained on suspicion of stealing weapons from a military base and selling them.
