IRGC denies ship transit through Hormuz, as Washington launches “Project Freedom”

TEHRAN, May 04 (YPA) – The Public Relations of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) denied reports of commercial vessels or oil tankers crossing the Strait of Hormuz recently, asserting that navigation is subject to strict regulations and that any violations will be met with “force.”

The Iranian army announced the detection of US naval units attempting to approach the Strait after disabling their radar systems. Officials stated that stern radio warnings were issued, categorizing any entry attempt as a “breach of the ceasefire” that would trigger a direct response.

US President Donald Trump announced the launch of “Project Freedom,” an operation described as a “humanitarian initiative” aimed at extracting stranded ships from the Strait, warning against any interference.

The IRGC defined a new geographical scope for the Strait (extending from Kuh-e Mobarak to Fujairah, and between Qeshm Island and Umm Al Quwain), emphasizing its exclusive responsibility for securing navigation for vessels adhering to approved protocols.
