ADEN, April 30 (YPA) – A personal escort for a senior military commander affiliated with the Islah party, Mehran Al-Qubati, was killed on Wednesday following deadly clashes with armed elements in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden.
Local sources in the city reported that Saber Abu Ali, Al-Qubati’s personal escort, was killed during a raid carried out by members of the Security Belt Forces that targeted his home in the Dar Saad district.
Sources added that Saber Abu Ali was a wanted individual.
Security Belt Forces reportedly attempted to arrest him, but he resisted the operation with armed force, leading to an exchange of fire that ended in his immediate death.
The incident underscores the ongoing security uncertainty in Aden, reflecting deepening polarization and escalating tensions between armed factions aligned with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and those linked to Saudi-backed forces, particularly Islah-affiliated elements in the city.
