WASHINGTON, April 26 (YPA) – Panic briefly gripped Washington, D.C., after a shooting inside the Hilton hotel forced the evacuation of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Security swiftly escorted the president from the venue after gunfire was reported in the lobby. The suspected gunman was later killed, according to media reports.
Although officials confirmed the president was unharmed and returned to the event, the incident raised fresh concerns about security in the heart of the US capital.
