Israeli occupation authorities force Palestinian to self-demolish home in Quds’ Silwan

OCCUPIED QUDS, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday forced a Palestinian resident to self-demolish his home in the Silwan neighborhood, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Quds (Jerusalem) Governorate stated that Israeli occupation authorities compelled Musa Al-A’war to demolish his residence in the Ayn al-Lawzah neighborhood of Silwan.

Israeli occupation authorities routinely force Palestinian citizens, particularly in occupied Quds, to demolish their own homes under the pretext of lacking building permits. If a resident refuses, Israeli occupation bulldozers execute the demolition, levelling heavy fines and costs on the owner.

The Israeli occupation municipality in Quds consistently denies building permits to Palestinians, forcing them to demolish their homes in actions that violate international laws guaranteeing the right to housing, as part of systematic policies aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians to expand settlements in and around the city.
