WASHINGTON, April 25 (YPA) – US spending on its military operation against Iran has exceeded $61 billion, media outlet reported, citing the Iran War Cost Tracker.
The tracker reported that 55 days after the start of the operation, total expenditures have reached $61.2 billion, including $11.3 billion spent in the first six days.
The calculation methodology is based on a Pentagon report to Congress, which stated that the first six days of the operation cost $11.3 billion, and further expenses would amount to $1 billion per day.
Earlier, Israeli occupation’s Finance Ministry published a preliminary estimate of the cost of its military operation against Iran, stating that the war incurred 35 billion shekels ($11.52 billion) in budgetary expenses, including 22 billion shekels in direct military costs.
The ministry confirmed that the government had approved additional emergency allocations in mid-March worth 2.6 billion shekels ($827 million) for urgent weapons procurement as the confrontation escalated.
Despite the high costs, US President Donald Trump expressed optimism about negotiations with Iran, saying “Tehran is preparing a proposal aimed at meeting American demands.”
According to Trump, any future agreement should include Iran abandoning enriched uranium and ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. However, he did not specify which Iranian representatives are involved in the talks, saying only that they are “the people currently in power.”
