Tasnim: Iran’s decision not to participate in another round of Pakistani-mediated talks with US has not changed

TEHRAN, April 20 (YPA) – Iran’s decision not to participate in another round of Pakistani-mediated negotiations with the United States has not changed so far, according to informed sources cited by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, despite recent US statements indicating that an American negotiating team is heading to Pakistan.

Information received by Tasnim’s correspondent indicates that the naval blockade remains a key obstacle to the talks and has been conveyed through a Pakistani mediator, who said on Monday that he had discussed the matter with US President Donald Trump

In addition to the issue of the naval blockade, there have been excessive demands from the Americans mentioned in the exchanged messages that do not show a clear horizon for any upcoming negotiations.

Therefore, the Iranian delegation believes that as long as the US looks at the issue unrealistically and approaches the negotiating table with the same miscalculations that led to its heavy defeat in the military arena, negotiations would be simply a waste of time and Iran would not accompany the US in this waste of time process.

Accordingly, until some fundamental obstacles are removed and a clear horizon for reaching an agreement acceptable to Tehran is formed, Iran will see no basis for participating in the American theater.

Iran is also mindful of the possible scenario mentioned by some media about negotiations being a deception and is ready for a military confrontation and punishing the US again.

It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the American negotiating team, led by “Vance,” was heading to Islamabad, indicating Washington’s readiness to engage in talks through a Pakistani mediator.
