Iran forces two oil tankers to turn back in Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN, April 19 (YPA) – The Iranian Armed Forces on Sunday intercepted two oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz without authorization, forcing them to turn back, according to Tasnim News Agency.

The report said the vessels, sailing under the flags of Botswana and Angola, ignored prior warnings before being compelled to alter course by Iranian forces.

Tehran said the move comes amid ongoing maritime tensions and what it describes as a continued naval blockade, emphasizing its enforcement of navigation rules in the strategic waterway.
