ADEN, April 19 (YPA) – Southern military analyst Khalid al-Nasi accused on Saturday Saudi Arabia of pursuing a policy that “fuels chaos, terrorism, and resource looting” in southern provinces of Yemen, despite what he described as significant sacrifices made by local communities over the past decade.
In a post on X, al-Nasi said southern fighters had long served Saudi interests, sustaining heavy human losses, yet have seen worsening security and economic conditions in return.
He urged residents of the south to reassess their stance, arguing that Riyadh prioritizes its own strategic interests over local concerns, and warning against reliance on what he called unfulfilled promises.
Al-Nasi also described the current phase as “decisive,” calling for a more independent approach, while accusing Saudi Arabia of a dual policy—supporting Islah Party while simultaneously weakening southern factions—in pursuit of greater control over territory and resources.
