Hind Rajab files complaint in Sri Lanka against Israeli soldier involved in “genocide”

BRUSSEL, April. 18 (YPA) – The Hind Rajab International Human Rights Foundation has filed a criminal complaint with Sri Lankan authorities against an Israeli soldier holding American citizenship, accusing him of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The foundation stated that the soldier, named “Jake,” volunteered for the Israeli army following the outbreak of the war on Gaza on October 2023 and served in Company D of the 603rd Combat Engineering Battalion within the 7th Brigade.

It explained that the complaint is based on evidence of his involvement in war crimes, noting that the battalion’s tasks went beyond engineering work to include the demolition of civilian areas.

It said that the operations targeted residential buildings, mosques, agricultural lands, and industrial facilities, in addition to participating in attacks on hospitals, detaining civilians, and abusing them.

The organization confirmed that it had documented the soldier’s involvement in at least one demolition incident in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, during October and November 2025, noting that he had posted photos on social media showing his presence inside Gaza, including in Khan Younis and Rafah.

It should be noted that the buildings were not military targets at the time of their demolition, and that this was part of a broader policy of land control and displacement of residents, according to Hind Rajab.
