Traffic paralysis, public outcry in Aden, Hadramout due to new price hike

ADEN, April 18 (YPA) – The fuel and domestic gas crisis has intensified across Aden and the districts of Hadramout valley following the Saudi-backed “Shaya al-Zindani” government’s implementation of a new price hike.

The move has resulted in a near-total paralysis of transportation and the return of long queues at fuel stations.

As a result of this crisis, freelancers and taxi drivers have been forced to stop working due to fuel exhaustion. A sharp increase in local transportation fares has placed an additional burden on low-income citizens. Parallel markets for fuel and gas cylinders have resurfaced as supplies vanished from official distribution centers.

Amid widespread public outcry, citizens have accused the government of mismanagement and failing to provide radical solutions to the escalating living crisis.
