Hezbollah denies link to UNIFIL incident in Bint Jbeil, urges awaiting investigation results

BEIRUT, April 18 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah denied on Saturday any involvement in the incident involving UNIFIL forces in the Ghandouriya–Bint Jbeil area, calling for restraint and warning against premature accusations.

In a statement, the party said it is awaiting the results of an investigation by the Lebanese army to clarify the circumstances of the incident, stressing the need to avoid assigning blame before the facts are established.

The statement also underscored the importance of continued coordination between local residents, UNIFIL, and the Lebanese army, particularly given the sensitivity of the situation.

It further expressed surprise at what it described as rapid accusations by some parties, noting their silence over repeated Israeli occupation’s attacks targeting UNIFIL forces.
