Dozens killed, injured as Israeli airstrikes devastate southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, April 16 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health said on Thursday that a large-scale Israeli escalation involving more than 50 airstrikes on southern Lebanon has left multiple casualties and dozens injured, alongside widespread destruction to infrastructure, residential areas, and power and water networks.

In a statement, the ministry reported that two paramedics were critically wounded after an ambulance was struck in Tibnin, while additional casualties were recorded in raids targeting Tyre, the Chouf, and other areas as rescue teams continue clearing debris.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army announced the destruction of the Qasimiya bridge, a move aimed at isolating areas south of the Litani River. The overall toll from the escalation since early March has risen to thousands of casualties, including women, children, and healthcare workers.
