Sayyed Al-Houthi warns US piracy in Gulf of Oman will have major global economic consequences
SANAA, April 16 (YPA) – Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, condemned the recent American move in the Gulf of Oman aimed at constricting the Strait of Hormuz and disrupting ship movements, describing it as an act of piracy and hostile aggression with serious consequences that will further impact the global economy.
Speaking in a televised address on Thursday about regional developments, he emphasized that the U.S. actions in the Gulf of Oman lack any legitimacy, noting that this step was taken in response to the legitimate measures implemented by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
Sayyed Al-Houthi warned that continued American aggression, bullying, and tyranny are worsening the global economic situation and stressed the urgent need for the nation to play a decisive role in fully halting this aggression and thwarting American-Zionist plans.
He pointed out that American and Israeli tyranny was exposed worldwide, including within the United States itself, where the Trump administration is viewed as serving Zionist interests. He underscored that the U.S. has not only exploited the nation’s resources but is actively pursuing the establishment of a “greater Israel” in the region—a plan that threatens global stability by disregarding international laws and United Nations charters.
The movement’s leader questioned the Arab and Islamic response to an image published by Trump, digitally altered using artificial intelligence to depict himself as a god on Earth, expressing deep concern over the influence of Zionist lobbying within the U.S. Congress and its impact on regional security and stability.
Leader Al-Houthi stressed that the current phase demands heightened vigilance and constant readiness, noting that a fragile two-week truce was already halfway through.
He called for steadfast resistance against the Zionist plan, declaring, “The finest and greatest form of jihad in this era is confronting the Zionist Jews who aggress against us as a Muslim nation.”
Sayyed Al-Houthi concluded by warning that obedience to the enemy results in the loss of freedom, dignity, and legitimate rights, representing a betrayal of principles and values and leading to the humiliation of the nation.
