Israeli soldiers killed, wounded in Bint Jbeil ambush

BEIRUT, April 16 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon ( Hezbollah) said that its fighters had carried out an ambush targeting a force from the Israeli occupation army as it advanced toward the southwestern neighborhoods of the city of Bint Jbeil, resulting in several casualties.

In a statement released on April 15, 2026, the group detailed the ambush carried out in defense of Lebanese territory and its people, amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression against the country.

The statement read as follows:

“In the framework of countering the attempt by the “Israeli” enemy army to infiltrate the city of Bint Jbeil, and during an attempt by a force from the 101st Battalion, Paratrooper Brigade, to advance from the town of Maroun al-Ras towards the southwestern neighborhoods of the city of Bint Jbeil at dawn on Tuesday, 14/04/2026, and upon the force reaching the kill zone in a pre-prepared ambush, the fighters detonated an explosive device among them, and then engaged them in clashes from point-blank range with light and medium weapons, which resulted in their members being killed or wounded.

The enemy army proceeded to evacuate the casualties from the ambush area under heavy fire and smoke cover towards the town of Maroun al-Ras and from there into occupied Palestine using helicopters, while the resistance artillery targeted the evacuation area with rockets and artillery shells.

This response will continue until the “Israeli”-American aggression on our country and our people ceases.”
