“Israel” launches heavy strikes on southern Lebanon as Hezbollah intensifies rocket attacks

BEIRUT, April 16 (YPA) – Israeli air force and artillery launched an intense shelling on Thursday morning, targeting at least 15 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, according to the National News Agency.

For its part, Lebanon’s Hezbollah announced that it carried out its third rocket strike on the Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona within the past 24 hours, in addition to conducting more than 30  operations against the Israeli occupation army since the beginning of Wednesday.

It is worth noting that the escalation of hostilities between “Israel” and Lebanon began on March 2, following strikes carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, after which Hezbollah aligned itself with Tehran.

Since March 16, “Israel” has been conducting a ground operation in southern Lebanon and launching strikes on Lebanese cities, including the capital, Beirut.

Following a two-week ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, Hezbollah suspended its operations against “Israel”, but resumed them after intense Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
